The Throat chakra, or Vishudhha (Pure), is the Fifth Chakra, located at the base of the throat. It regulates the energy associated with communication, self expression and truth. It is associated with the colour Blue and has the Beej Mantra of Hum, has the element Ether and is Masculine in nature. Blockage of the Throat Chakra could be due to criticism by parents, abuse, not being allowed to express etc. Throat Chakra Healing is needed when it gets blocked (or becomes overactive). This may happen due to any reason, consequently, there is a disruption in the flow of Life Force Energy. 

 

This can lead to any or all of these:

  • Difficulty in expressing thoughts and emotions.
  • Misunderstanding and miscommunication.
  • Lack of self confidence in most areas.
  • Inferiority or superiority complex.
  • Shyness or anxiety in conversations.
  • Over opinionated or unable to express yourself.
  • Stage/ public speaking phobia.
  • Hyper or hypothyroidism.
  • Repeated restrictive relationships.
  • Thin/ cracked voice.

Chakra Healing

Chakra healing is the process of cleansing and energising one or more than one chakras. It can be done by using certain modalities. Other things such as foods, sounds, smells, yoga practices and healing crystals can also help. Healing maybe followed by Chakra balancing for a more centered result.

When your throat chakra is clear, strong, and in harmony, you’ll feel sure about expressing your thoughts and feelings. You’ll be open, able to speak honestly, and not afraid to share how you truly feel. Your interactions with others will be marked by respect and authenticity, and you’ll freely share your truth without worrying about the consequences. When you seek guidance, you’ll trust your inner voice as your ultimate teacher.

After cleaning your throat chakra, you’ll notice more clarity, trust, joy, and freedom. This is because you can communicate confidently and express yourself more openly.

Some practices that help

I can recommend the following practices for you for healing and balancing the Throat Chakra:

  1. Listen to certain Music: G or Pa Note, Raga Multani, Kamod and Puriya.
  2. Chanting the beej Mantra – Hum (It matches the vibration of the Throat Chakra). You may also try the 741 Hz music along with this.
  3. Yoga – In my practice, I have seen that the Ujjayi Pranayam (Breathing Exercise) works really well. Certain asanas (Poses) are also beneficial. Some of them are:-
    • Singhasana, also known as Lion breath Pose
    • Bhujangasana, also known as Baby Cobra Pose
    • Matsyasana, also known as Fish Pose
    • Halasana, also known as Plow Pose
    • Ushtrasana, also known as the Camel Pose
    • Salamba Sarvangasana, also known as Supported shoulder stand Pose.
  4.  Eat foods that resonate with Throat chakra plums, blueberries, blue grapes, apples, lemons, figs etc. Indian gooseberry works really well in this!
  5. Crystal Therapy Certain crystals such as Lapis Lazuli, Larimar, Aquamarine, tanzanite etc,  if energised and cleansed regularly can help regularly cleanse and balance the Throat Chakra.
  6. Aromatherapy Fragrances such as Frankincense, Ylang ylang, Clove, rosemary etc help. 
  7. Try Colour Therapy You may use blue shade colours in daily life. 
  8. Meditation Visualization and meditation can do wonders!
  9. Learn to listen and say thank you!
  10. Law of Attraction Mantras or affirmations can reprogram your unconscious thinking patterns. You can find a set of free Affirmations here.
  11. Contact a healer:  A good healer can work on you while you go about your day. You may also want to experience the near instantaneous results within yourself!
