be procrastination free - For free!
That 15 letter word that has been earning a bad name since some time now – Procrastination! And supposedly helping people be procrastination free has become a viable career option! Entire careers and industries have sprung up promising to help you
“beat it,” “hack it,” or “crush it.”
What if I tell you how to stop procrastinating naturally and that too free without any gimmicks and absolutely no strings attached? Interested? Read on.
A few days back, I was talking to a group of people who were struggling with their lives. Unable to launch/ expand the business, unable to finish even simple tasks, no change in family dynamics even after repeated coaching and so on. In other words, full blown procrastinitis (I know it’s not an actual word or a disease but couldn’t resist)!
They all apparently wanted to be procrastination free and asked me how to overcome procrastination. After a few questions, some prodding, and some realisation, I asked them one simple question –
“what is your purpose?”
Some said: wealth, abundance, a house of their own.
Others said: to be happy, have a good family life.
A few… just stared blankly.
But these are not a purpose, are they? They’re desires. They’re outcomes and some of them had not even given it a thought?
I would like to ask you the same question but first, let me define what a purpose means.
What Does Purpose Really Mean?
A purpose is neither a goal nor an ambition, it is something for which you exist. It ignites your soul and propels you forward. A purpose is something for which you wake up before the alarm rings, for which you forget food or sleep or pleasure because it fills something in you which is bigger than all these. When you really find your purpose though, it becomes a beacon, giving meaning to every action, every decision and dispelling all doubts and fears. It leads you ever closer to the truest version of who you are - becoming a legacy you leave behind, a proof of your passion.
And yet… most of us have no idea what our purpose is. We chase material gains, feed our egos, or seek approval or validation; often justifying it in the name of “love” or “success.”
What Is Your Purpose?
So, let me ask you again now –
“What is Your Purpose?”
“Have you even started looking for it?”
“Are you willing to question yourself?”
Find your purpose, discover your purpose and you’ll find that you will you will be procrastination free forever! Because when you’re fueled by something bigger than yourself, procrastination simply doesn’t stand a chance.
So go on. Ask yourself.
And begin.
Why Do We Procrastinate?
Why do we indeed!! We do not procrastinate because we’re lazy although both are erroneously used synonymously. We procrastinate because something inside us feels disconnected. Usually, it’s fear dressed up as perfectionism, self-doubt disguised as “waiting for the right time,” or simply the absence of a clear purpose that drains our motivation. Without a deeper “why” to guide us, even the smallest tasks feel heavy, and we find ourselves avoiding them. But the moment you align with what truly matters to you, action starts to feel natural and we stop procrastinating naturally
